The Torture Letters

T H E     T O R T U R E     L E T T E R S

I had the incredible opportunity to work with amazing animation director Jocie Juritz on her latest films which she made in collaboration with author and professor Laurence Ralph. She created four short animated accompaniments to four open letters from Laurence's book ‘The Torture Letters – Reckoning With Police Violence’.
Director: Jocie Juritz
Synopsis: From unjustified stops of Black teenagers to a device to torment people in custody, racist police brutality runs deep.
It was such a joy to animate so many abstract shapes for her and assist with colouring, and it was such an honour to have worked on this incredibly moving and important piece of work. Below you can watch the full film and see a few extracts of some of the bits and pieces I animated for her.
